Saturday Shopping & Homecoming

Last weekend, I went home for a friends birthday celebration. It was so great to celebrate with him and to see old friends.

Prior to the party, I spent the day with my sister. I love spending time with my sister, but it's something we rarely get to do. We started by having lunch at one of my favourite restaurants. I had soup and buffalo chicken fingers. My sister had salad and Asian chicken bites.

When we were done lunch, we headed to the mall. I was on the lookout for a pair of black ballet flats. which I didn't find. I am also lusting after this bag (which I didn't find because it wasn't available yet) from Aldo:

While I am often at the mall (I was there the day before to get my hair done), I rarely walk around and check out the different stores.I was so surprised, and happy, to see that there was a Yankee Candle! Of course we stopped in and took our time trying the different scents. I did end up buying some wax melts:
When we were done shopping, we stopped at Teavana. Teavana is this really cool shop. Not only do they carry tea products, but they also have a tea bar. My sister, who loves tea, had never been. She ended up ordering a raspberry iced tea and I had a coconut blended tea.
On our way home, we decided to stop by Brock University. I am a Brock grad and my sister is thinking of going there next year. I loved my time at Brock! The weekend before, was Alumni Weekend, which I sadly couldn't attend. But when my sister and I were on campus, there was still some Brock Days celebrating going on. Everyone was at the pub (which we didn't go to because my sister is underage), there were games of flag football going on and everyone was dressed in red (one of the school colours).

My sister and I walked around campus and throughout the school. I pointed out my old lecture halls, where my friends and I would hang out, other campus favourite spots. It was fun reliving my undergrad days, remembering stories.
It was weird being back on campus but it was also really great to go back.

  1. Yankee Candle is one of my favorite places ever! Their flagship store is about an hour from my house and we go there several times a year so that I can stock up on yummy smelling candles. I haven't been in a while so I'll have to drag the hubs there soon ;o)
