This weekend was supposed to be a relatively quiet one...as in I didn't have a lot scheduled. But, in true Melissa fashion, it ended up being busy. I spent the weekend at my parents weekend home, where my dad and grandma were too. Friday (after I had an amazing day...which I will blog about later this week), we went to a local bar for a drink and to pick up dinner. Saturday, my dad and I did a bunch of errands, went to the beach for what will likely be the last time this year and for dinner we went to our favourite restaurant. I spent the rest of the time preparing for a friends baby shower, which is on Tuesday! I will be sharing the baby shower planning and final outcome over the next couple of weeks.
1. What were you like in middle school and high school?
The school system I was a part of didn't have middle school or junior high. In high school, I was...involved. I knew a lot of people, I participated in a TON of co-curricular activities. I did a lot of work representing the school out in the community. I did well academically- honour student- and finished a year early. A lot of staff considered me a "student leader". My guidance counselor described me as "energetic, rarely says no to a request and happy."
2. What were your favorite pastimes?
Between
school, co-curricular activities and dance classes, I had very little
free time. The city I grew up in, hockey was HUGE, with the local junior
team having home games on Sunday night. I loved being in the arena,
with friends, watching the games.
3. What songs were you obsessed with?
Hmm...I don't know if I can remember! I
know that I was a Backstreet Boys fan and Britney Spears debuted when I
was in grade 9. Dave Matthews Band was a favourite too. I know I
haven't listed any songs...just artists...my mind is drawing a blank on
songs!
4. What fashion statement do you look backing and cringe?
I went to a Catholic school, so we were
in uniforms everyday. On out of uniform days/after school/weekends, it
was mostly jeans and shirts. I, luckily, didn't worry about fashion
statements or being on trend, so nothing to cringe about. However- and I
NEVER wore these- the baby t-shirts...and chokers.
5. Who was your celeb crush?
Nick Carter, Joshua Jackson, Shane West and Devon Sawa.
6. What was your favorite movie?
Clueless & Empire Records (yes,
before high school, but still...), She's All That, Whatever It Takes,
Get Over It, Never Been Kissed...All those teen comedies.
Clueless and Never Been Kissed were a couple of my favorite movies as well. My previous comment disappeared. Not quite sure what happened, but whatevs!!
